I construct rustic willow furniture from native willow which I gather locally. This follows a tradition of folk art that is influenced by Gypsy and Adirondack styles. I have a rustic furniture shop at 7th and Main in Lapel in a 1890's grocery store building from the gas boom era.

As an artist and musician, I draw upon the interconnected rhythms of the natural world and human culture to engage and communicate. It is my hope that my work inspires harmony - an interactive metaphor of being in tune with oneself, our neighbors and the world we all share - through awareness, listening, hearing, understanding, and respect.

When subject matter is no longer important, the artist can henceforth express what is essential to him. Completely free from conforming to external standards, he uses his senses and sensitivity and his preferred medium in a singular portrayal of self- identification. Free - flowing energies from within demand expressive form - they in turn feed my senses. Thus my subjects do not consist of structured content. I relate to the suggestion of restlessness, subtle, yet ongoing motion without regard for time. I’m struck by elusive textures, (more)

The high-tension designs of my freestanding and installation sculptures in metal, often deal with concepts of implied movement, transformation, location and self-awareness. I create a subtle visual play for the viewer using three prominent elements: contrast, repetition and focus on line. Through these themes, I strive to make the viewer aware of borders and grasp an overall concept of place. Each sculpture is uniquely created in an effort to transform perceptions of traditional art and self-awareness. The clean elegance of my (more)

As a child I never questioned what I would be when I grew up. When asked, I would reply, “An artist of course!” I have been in love with art since I was a small child and have always been known by friends and family as the “artistic” one. I have always had a knack for figuring out how to take an idea and make it a reality. I can work in just about any medium. I tend to primarily work as a painter with acrylic and watercolor. I love the fast drying quality of these paints because I tend to work very quickly. I am open to just about any type (more)

My art explores the elements of our world broken down to their most basic expressions – shape, color, and texture. Within my work, my goal is to communicate a peaceful balance between the seen and unseen energies of nature and humanity.

Natural plant and flower forms are a source of inspiration for my work. The exploration of color on metal became significant to my artwork when I became interested in enamel. Varying experimentation with translucent and opaque enamels on mesh and lightweight copper surfaces has led me to an exploration of nature in the form of metal and glass jewelry.

I am an interdisciplinary designer from Indiana, the land of cornfields and pollen. My BFA was earned from Finlandia University ISAD in Hancock, Michigan. I had several works included in the annual Finlandia University Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition, receiving numerous awards in both Digital Art and Interdisciplinary Design categories. I went even further north to study at Kuopio Academy of Design in Finland and honed my skills in metal jewelry and high-speed photography. Whether traditionally inspired by Masters like Tiffany or more contemporary in design, my work is as much about the chosen medium as it is the image portrayed. When the viewer is fooled, even at times to the point of argument, that the pieces are in fact glass, I realize the greatest complement. “Light and Reflection” is the title of my collection for a number of reasons. Some are more technical in nature. Others have more to do with the “spirit” of the work. First, from a technical standpoint, the pieces need no back lighting, (more)

My entry in to the art scene started by painting abstract designs on vinyl flooring remnants. These became mats and runners. Primed and painted, the designs were sealed or protected with several coats of polyurethane. I have since switched over to heavy weight canvas. As an exciting option, obviously, canvas is more amenable to hanging from an aesthetic point of view. I have recently begun focusing more energy on wall art, incorporating different elements to create more dimension. The themes in my work tend to incorporate geometric images, (more)

I am a self-taught stained glass artist who has been working in this beautiful medium for the last ten years. I’ve created many of my own design patterns and use others that I find to be creatively inspirational. There is an emotional connection, a passion, for creating art in glass. I never put limits on anything I do. I use the copper foil method exclusively and insist on making a piece look 3-D. You will see free form designs more often in my work than a square frame. I like to see the detail and definition of the piece. The colors, (more)

I have studied at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Art Institute of Indianapolis, and Art Institute Online, At each of these institutions of higher learning I was educated to think about why I create, what I create. I am a conceptual storyteller, in form of a sculptor, or a mixed media artist. Not only do I tell the story, but I tell the lesson I have learned at the end. I've kept my work out of the limelight until the perfect time, just as I was told. One has to look deep, and realize what I say, may be in code. Or I may just (more)
