As an artist and musician, I draw upon the interconnected rhythms of the natural world and human culture to engage and communicate. It is my hope that my work inspires harmony - an interactive metaphor of being in tune with oneself, our neighbors and the world we all share - through awareness, listening, hearing, understanding, and respect.

When subject matter is no longer important, the artist can henceforth express what is essential to him. Completely free from conforming to external standards, he uses his senses and sensitivity and his preferred medium in a singular portrayal of self- identification.
Free - flowing energies from within demand expressive form - they in turn feed my senses. Thus my subjects do not consist of structured content. I relate to the suggestion of restlessness, subtle, yet ongoing motion without regard for time. I’m struck by elusive textures, (more)

The high-tension designs of my freestanding and installation sculptures in metal, often deal with concepts of implied movement, transformation, location and self-awareness. I create a subtle visual play for the viewer using three prominent elements: contrast, repetition and focus on line. Through these themes, I strive to make the viewer aware of borders and grasp an overall concept of place. Each sculpture is uniquely created in an effort to transform perceptions of traditional art and self-awareness.

I have studied at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Art Institute of Indianapolis, and Art Institute Online, At each of these institutions of higher learning I was educated to think about why I create, what I create. I am a conceptual storyteller, in form of a sculptor, or a mixed media artist. Not only do I tell the story, but I tell the lesson I have learned at the end. I've kept my work out of the limelight until the perfect time, just as I was told. One has to look deep, and realize what I say, may be in code. Or I may just (more)

I have been painting under the pseudonym, NORTHWOOD, since 1990, NORTHWOOD is a derivation of my family name, Nordholt.
As the owner of an interior design firm, INTERIORS, INC., for twenty three years, and placing my work in both commercial and residential projects, I feel the art should speak first, letting the surrounding compliment the art, with rhythm and flow.
I have studied informally with Megan Ueberroth and Michael Teague. The continuing exploration of studies as well as instinct and passion are the significant components in the (more)

ARTIST STATEMENT: D. DELREVERDA-JENNINGS: Interdisciplinary Artist:
Influenced by the kaleidoscope of cultural nuances, personal experiences, connection, memory and observation...Art has always been a constant passion and drive throughout my life. It is compulsory and I must admit that I create the majority of what I do for purely selfish reasons. To please myself and my inner child, bringing my spirit great joy and amazement, then on to share with others, where I acquire yet another marvelous blessing whenever a piece (more)

I, in conjunction with my fellow designer, envision and sculpt objects of a fantastical nature tempered with recognizable historic elements in order to build a visual balance and scale that stimulates and inspires. I strive to achieve sculptures that make the imagination race and the heart flutter, though the viewer may not know why. My dream consciousness and world experience direct the details that manifest as subtle stylized components that complement and enhance the overall work.

I'm living the dream! Since I was in 2nd grade, my goal has been to be a professional artist. It has been realized for over 20 years. I consider myself to be a rare mixture of artist and business professional, which has opened many doors and provided many blessings for me and my company by extension.
I can't say that I favor any particular media - that would be like choosing which dessert is best - it's all good! I'm a student of life and enjoy learning and growing constantly. I don't shy away from any creative opportunity, nor do I (more)

As an artist, I have consistently expressed the events, concerns, and joys in my life by creating works in a
series: ‘The Faucet’ series; ‘The Fly-fishing’ series; ‘The Abstract’ series; ‘The Minimal’ series, and now,
‘The Column' series. Working in a sequence affords involvement in the subject matter through focused
research to develop concepts and to project the essence of the topic. Reflecting and interpreting these events has resulted in the use of many different materials: bronze, Plexiglas, wood, metal, and mixed media. When the (more)
