During the second half of the 19th Century, an unparalleled art movement emerged in Indiana that drew national acclaim for the men who were part of it. During the same period, scores of talented Indiana women also painted and sculpted and earned their own following. Based on the IHS Press book; Skirting the Issue: Stories of Indiana's Historical Women Artists by Judith Vale Newton and Carol Ann Weiss, this exhibition showcases the work of more than three dozen women artists from Indiana.
