Schuetter, Myra
Painter (View Portfolio) 316 W 33rd Street
Jasper, IN 47546
I am a watercolor artist specializing in highly involved, super-realistic, colorful, large-scale watercolors. I work for months on each painting, using traditional methods of drawing and painting to produce these monumental works on paper.
I received a BS in Secondary Art Ed from ISU and a MAT from DePauw. Awards include the Martha and Merritt deJong Memorial Artist-in-Residence at the Evansville Museum of Art, and an Indiana Arts Commission Master Fellowship. I've also received numerious Purchase and Merit Awards from Regional Art Exhibitions. Two of my paintings hang in the permanent collections of the Evansville Museum and the Swope Art Museum in Terre Haute, and a painting commissioned by former Governor Joe Kernan hung in his office in the State Capitol. Some of my exhibitions include the 10th Realism Invitational at the Klaudia Marr Gallery in Santa Fe, solo exhibitions at the Evansville Museum and the Swope Art Museum, Annual Midyear Shows at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngtown, Ohio, a solo exhibition at Capricorn Galleries in Bethesda, Maryland, several exhibitions of the private collection of the late Phil Desind, three exhibits at the Krempp Gallery in Jasper, and Art in Embassies.
