Description
Each period in history has its sacred myth. These myths evolve and grow over the millennia because they reflect our ever-changing psychic needs and conditions. According to the psychologist, C.G. Jung, a new sacred myth is in the process of evolving and we are undergoing a major transformation or paradigm shift. As a result of their involvement with the unconscious, artists are frequently the first to sense these changes and express them. By sharing this experience with society through art, I hope to provide a point of departure and recognition for those who, willingly or unwillingly, are caught up in this transformation.
Background
I am a self-taught artist and have studied the works of C.G. Jung for the past 32 years. I took part in the major surrealist exhibition, "Brave Destiny", in New York in 2003. During this exhibition I was filmed by Olga Spiegel for her documentary on the history of symbolic and surrealist art I am planning a book based on the idea that art provides a portrait of our spiritual evolution.
