Baraka is a Musical Healing Kirtan group. Kirtans are ancient and mystical chants which purify the consciousness and connect one to the Divine through specific mantras, tones, and musical vibrations. Our message speaks of Unity, Compassion, and Peace.
Baraka heightens awareness beyond the physical, Opening the Chakras. Baraka is a youthful and ecstatic kirtan party.
Baraka, is an Ancient word meaning “Blessing”, “Essence of Life” , and “Soul Power”.
The Voyage CD is Baraka’s long awaited release inspired by their incredible voyage to the ancient and mystical land of India. The Voyage not only represents their physical journey but also their inner voyage of meditation and transformation.

SAKSHI-I THE I WITNESS
SAKSHI-I means the Higher I Witness. The Most I ~ He has been in several musical projects: Baraka, The Nyahbinghi Livity Choir, Coyaba/Natural Mystix, and the IU AFRICAN AMERICAN CHORAL ENSEMBLE. Sakshi has led Sacred Chants, Nyahbinghi, and Kirtan/Bhajans at many cultural festivals, gatherings, and yoga centers around the US, Hawaii, and India for over 10 years. SAKSHI-I is also collaborating with Members of the Underground Hip Hop Super-Group: LCOB and LA ONDA and has also joined forces with Vaishnava Youth Hiphop Group KURU DYNASTY. Sakshi-I also operates ARKAYA STUDIOS in Bloomington!

We have about 6 different performance groups, all based in the ancient culture of Africa, Ethiopia, India, and other ancient indigenous cultures. There is apprenticeships to become a leader and artist in this genre.
As well we teach classes and workshops on African Drumming, Capoeira, Nyahbinghi, Hip Hop Freestyle and Raping, Kirtan, Healing Sounds, , Ancient Mystical Practices and Holistic Lifestyle and Sustainability.
We can lead educational and cultural demonstrations and presentations for schools, centers, churches, ect..
We have CD's, Clothing, and Books for sale.
And we can assist and plan big events featuring one or many of our Unique and Entertaining musical groups. |
