Description

Since opening in 1984, The Melchior Marionettes make their summer home in the town of Nashville, Indiana. This small outdoor theatre performs for tourist during the months of June, July, Sept and Oct. on Saturdays, 1 & 3pm, when they are not on tour. The twenty minute family show consists of hand crafted, half life size trick marionettes.Extended schedule in Oct. No reservation required, Tickets, $4. Info; 1.800,849.4853

Background

The Melchior Marionettes are a family business, originally beginning in the early 1950's. Continued in the Indianapolis area...they have travelled extensively, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Shanghai. The Melchior Marionette Theatre in Nashville Indiana opened in 1983 and Peewinkle's Puppet Studio, in downtown Indpls., opened in 1998.
